Entering the class with a smiling face, the teacher will re-arrange the classroom if necessary. In order to introduce the day’s lesson, the teacher will ask the following questions –

The teacher will read the poem aloud with proper stress and intonation and ask the students to read so.    

The teacher will ask some students to read the poem loudly and some to read silently.          

The teacher will ask the students to find out the difficult words from the poem and tell them the meanings –
Wattles – twisted sticks
Linnet – a small brown and grey bird with a short break.
Clade – open space    

The teacher will say – “The Lake Isle of Innisfree is a poem where the poet wants to live in the tranquillity of nature. The poet is going to Innisfree to build a small simple cabin. He will have a little bean garden and honeybee hive. Even though he lives in an urban place with paved roads, deep down inside he’s down to the rural sounds of Innisfree.”   To evaluate the students learning the teacher will ask –

Where does the poet want to go?
What will he do there?    
The students will listen attentively.
