(a) Chair, Table, Blackboard are living or non-living things?
(b) Humans are living or non-living?
(c) Is there any special characteristics of living organisms to distinguish between living and non-living things?
The students will welcome the teacher and will try to give the answer.

The students will give the answer

3. All living organisms respond to the changes around their surroundings

4. All organisms reproduce their own kind

The teacher will say that – Every living organism needs to run the proper function of the body. Plants prepare their food by photosynthesis. Animals depend on plants and other animals. Foods give us the energy to maintain the life process.   To assess the students learning the teacher will ask the following question –
“On what do humans depends for their food?”

The teacher will say that – Your favorite food, bright sunlight, and thorns are some examples of changes in your surroundings. All of us respond to such changes immediately. Changes in our surroundings that make us respond are called stimuli.

The teacher will ask the following question: “Name some changes around us?”

The teacher will say that – Animals reproduce their own kind. The mode of reproduction may be different in different animals. Some reproduce their young ones through eggs and someones by giving birth.        Plants also reproduce. Like animals, plants also differ in their modes of reproduction. Many plants reproduce through seeds and some through parts other than seeds.

The teacher will question: “What are the two basic characteristics of organisms?”
The pupils will listen carefully.
